The Houston Texans have officially announced plans for Toro District, an 83-acre sports and entertainment destination that will be built right here in Bridgeland. This isn’t just another development—it’s expected to completely transform this area over the next several years.
The biggest part of the project is the Texans’ brand-new headquarters and training facility. The campus will include more than 175,000 square feet of space with indoor and outdoor practice fields, offices for both football and business operations, and a flexible event venue that can host nearly 16,000 people.
What I love most is that this won’t just be for the Texans. The plans include hosting youth sports tournaments, graduations, community events, and other large gatherings throughout the year, making it a destination for everyone—not just football fans.
But that’s only the beginning.
Toro District is planned to include:
- One million square feet of office space
- Restaurants, shops, and retail
- Healthcare and sports medicine facilities
- Two hotels
- More than 1,300 apartment homes
- Flag football and volleyball facilities
- Six parks
- Miles of walkable spaces and trails
- A new Harris County services center
The entire district is designed to bring together sports, entertainment, healthcare, business, and everyday living in one walkable community.
One of the most exciting parts is the opportunities it could create for local students. Plans include internships and career programs for students in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, Waller ISD, and Lone Star College, along with workforce training that could help prepare residents for careers right here in the area.
The project is also expected to have a major economic impact, creating thousands of jobs and bringing billions of dollars in long-term investment to Northwest Houston.
With Toro District joining the future Chevron campus and everything else happening in Bridgeland Central, it’s clear this area is growing into much more than a master-planned community. It’s becoming a destination.
Construction is expected to continue over the next few years, with completion currently projected for 2029.
